When we look up the keyword "Austria" in search engines such as Google Image, most pictures that will show up are the beauty of The Alps, rivers, and lakes. Of course, this makes Austria a perfect place for people to spend time with loved ones. But are those the only vacation spots that draw couples, friend groups, and families to Austria?

The answer is no. We can locate many more tourist destinations and attractions if we look further into the nation. For example, historical sites such as palaces, cathedrals, and museums are spread within the country, where it all offers many antique architectural styles. Those places will be a perfect destination for those looking for a new ambience in Austria. Spending quality time with your friends or significant other will be perfect in cities such as Linz, Salzburg, Melk, and Vienna by enjoying their city's historical landmarks.

Visiting destinations in the city centre, such as the Schönbrunn Palace and The Hofburg Palace, will give off a new vibe to Austria's visitors. It will also make Austria a much richer country for tourist destinations, not only providing nature destinations.

Even though the stereotyping of making Austria look like an all-natural country will positively attract tourists to the 'earthy' destinations, this will lead to fewer visitors to the cities' destinations. This has something to do with place essentialism--a concept promoting the idea of an innate essence of place--that makes Austria's tourism publication dominated by nature destinations. As a smart traveller, I believe that the best way to travel is by maximizing your experiences in every tourism aspect of the country.
